Where do I start with roguelike games? Or should I start at all? I liked the binding of isaac and legends of yore, I love nuclear throne but I don't really know what to play next. I would prefer something fast paced and with a "easy to play hard to master" philosophy.

Alright well first off if you want to play ACTUAL roguelikes start with DCSS or brougue
if you want to play rougeLITE games like the ones you described, FTL is unmatched IMO, gungeon is good, dead cells is fun enough but is in Early Access so you may want to wait a bit on it.cogmind is pretty good
There are no fast-paced roguelikes because they're all turn-based. DCSS is a good one to start.

I picked up streets of rogue in the sales. Again its in early access but has a lot of potential

Enter the gungeon is alot of fun, I know /v/ hates on it but it's not bad

DoomRL is the closest you'll get to a fast paced traditional roguelike.
You want Towerclimb.

I bought streets of rogue and refunded it after completing the available content on my first try.

I appreciate your suggestions but enter the gungeon is not good at all. It feels like somebody took Nuclear Throne and scientifically engineered it to be not fun.
What you're describing are RogueLites. Rogue Legacy is food and I thoroughly enjoyed Dungeons of Dredmor, but it has a lot of quirky, random humour, so beware if you do not like that

Must agree with this guy. I've tried and tried to like Enter the Gungeon but it doesn't do the roguelite stuff or the bullet hell stuff well enough to be worth the time/money.
ToME is my favourite one (roguelike, not roguelite). If you're a noob it has an ingame chat with a friendly community. The developer is a chill guy and every now and then makes lovely things, like the bearscape event.

How long does a ToME run usually take?

Not who you replied to, but I average about 9-10 hours for a win if I'm being meticulous.

my (roguelike difficulty, accept no substitutes) runs usually take much, much more (40+ hrs), because I have a very cautious playstyle(it's that room with the two multihued dragons' fault, my first char got rekt there, never forget)and I always go for a new race\class combo
There are also two expansions campaigns.

ADOM is the only roguelike I ever liked, and all roguelike fans seem to hate it

Yeah, I also refunded it. Seems like an aight game but fuck it got stale
