I'm going back for another play through of the Half-Life games again and I wanted to know which do you prefer?

They don't fit aesthetics of level design. They were made for console ports, which also had graphically more complex environments. Also they're not really liked by the fans.

Also it breaks lore. There's no reason for Beretta and M4 to share 9mm ammo, nor there's a reason for M9 to have full auto mode.

I'm not. These models were made for cancelled Dreamcast port. And PS2 version is indeed graphically more detailed. More detailed environments, even the models themselves.

I stopped playing the Source version on the part where you are on several conveyor belts because the liquids were so bugged they stretched out all over the map in a bright yellow/red color and it was impossible to see anything.

I own the PS2 version, and I can say that the ENVIRONMENTS were not upped whatsoever. The only exception are the F-Aid & Charging station devices.
