What is /v/'s opinion on taunting?

I'll usually end a match in whatever game if an opponent does it more than once. I'm getting older and as time goes on I have less and less time to waste playing games with people who have no manners.

I typically don't but if someone taunts me first, I'll taunt the shit out of them whenever possible

I like taunts in games where they actually do something. Deadpool's taunt in Mahvel 3 has a hitbox, 3s taunts generally do stat modifiers, etc.

Taunting just to taunt is funny the first time but bad manners and just plain annoying if spammed. I've found my life improved by a noticeable degree once I just stopped engaging with people who do it.

Some exceptions are fine though, like after a goofy thing happening in smash.

Real men taunt DURING a fight. Taunting after a kill/during stun, when the enemy can't hit you is pussy shit. Taking the chance of getting punished and winning out is far more rewarding/humiliating.

I use my least offensive taunts at the start of the battle is SSB4, just out of a gesture of good will for a good fight. Sort of like how MMA fighters bump fists before they begin.

And it gives me an impression of the kind of player I'm fighting, When they reciprocate, I can enjoy a good fight, win or lose. But if they attack me while I'm taunting? Rest assured, every fiber of my being is being directed to ensure their DEMISE.

I'm fine with it in any game other than UMVC3
Some cock gobbler could have a dumb team with super armor, invincibility frames, full spam team and assists, etc
Then if they happen to win they do a taunt at the very end of the match to extend the end so that you can watch the entire taunt
The taunt makes me wanna fight another round but I can't because in ranked its one and done so you can't retaliate
It's just frustrating that they choose to taunt at the end of the match rather in the middle of it because they know they can get away with it if they win beforehand

I don't taunt unless they do first or if they play something cancerous/unfun/tier whoring I spam taunts after I kill them.

Its fucking annoying but i do it too sometimes. Its in the game and its meant to usually annoy people since its a TAUNT.

Lately its kinda shit in alot of things fighting game taunts keep getting more mediocre or like GG they're good but cannot just be normal/block cancelled so you rarely get a chance to get them off safely.

taunting is fine if you manage to pull off something impressive
getting a lucky or retarded kill and taunting is for fags
