How do you do anything in this game without being killed?

Either go solo in high sec or join a blob alliance in null

Pretty hard to die either way there

The problem is though as soon as you leave high sec you either get jumped or gate camped, I cant manage to get anything done

I did mine about 6mill of ore in 0.3 space but now I keep getting killed trying to pick it up and transport it all to jita

Join an alliance in null. Use a cloaky ship to get there. You will not be bothered in systems your alliance owns. You'll make a crap ton more money than you would in low sec.

If you're antisocial, wormholes are a better option than low sec. Just keep an eye on your scanner.

You can mine in a nullsec corporation fleet and make a lot of ISK with minimal effort and be very safe doing it, especially multiboxing

I wouldn't recommend it though
