I have a weird dilemma. I bought the NES classic at MSRP and it was easily hackable and I've added the entire NES library while maintaining Nintendo's front end UI which I actually think looks quite nice.

I imagine the same scenario will be able to play out with SNES version as well but I think I should go with the raspberry pi thing that everyone talks about. Can somebody show what their UI looks like?

That's how I felt about the NES Classic. I would want the SNES classic if it could actually play SNES carts on top of the emulation, but as it stands, my old SNES still works fine, even if it doesn't have an HDMI input and I don't have an old tube TV.

If the SNES Classic was gonna fail, then the NES classic would have failed. I mean, you can literally get a Wii for 30 bucks on ebay, and then download all those NES Classic games, all those SNES Classic games (minus Star Fox 2), as well as a whole bunch more for a couple bucks per title. Or you could drop another hundred bucks and get a used 8GB Wii U, which has all those games, plus rare Wii games in the store (like Xenoblade Chronicles).

People are buying it because it's Officially licensed. I would throw stones, but remember how expensive the PS4 anniversary edition console was, too. Hell, if you want the Anniversary Edition controller now, it's like 70-80 bucks new (I got mine for the same price as all the other controllerss).
