What order should I play all the Tales of games on the PS3? I

Play Berseria last since it's best Tales of. Don't listen to Vesperia fags, they're gonna shill the game as they always do.

You should start by playing Symphonia even though it didn't age well in my opinion.

Honestly you should emulate the older games like Phantasia, but I would begin with Symphonia. Do not play the sequel, it fucking sucks. If you can, emulate/buy a 3DS and play Abyss too.

The only good ones are Vespeera, Symphonia and Berseria.
And on PS3, you need CFW for 2 of those, namely Vesperia and Berseria which need English patches (they exist and are great).
Symphonia is available in English though so you can play that, you should start with it anyway since it's one of the oldest entries.
DON'T play Symphonia 2 that comes with it since that one is trash.

From what I played, Ar Nosurge and Valkirya Chronicles are GOAT, Tokyo Twilight is a good curiosity, Eternal Sonata is average and The Guided Fate Paradox was a huge disapointment

Vesperia, symphonia and berseria are the only ones worth playing. Xillia is a incomplete mess. Xillia is reusets assets up to the ass. graces is just meh. graces was the start of world map removal and exploration started getting worse. Zestiria almost killed the series. gameplay is bad, story is bad, characters are bad, equip system try to play the diablo card but fails because it doesn't fit the game's design.
Also you'll probably suffer burn out the moment you finish one tales because when you think the game is going to end. you are actually only ending the first chapter/first half.

-entire combat system is mapping a weakness on one button and mashing the shit out of it, occasionally you press R2
-visuals are complete ass, despite this the draw distance is horrifying
-story starts off strong then gets worse and worse as laphicet becomes more of a focus and turns into and OC donut steel powerhouse (doesn't even get a fucking scene with Artorius what the fuck)
-music is insanely generic (I know this is a general problem because lolsakuraba but it felt more exacerbated in berseria)
-the dungeon design is fucking atrocious with hallways up the ass and essentially no puzzles outside some braindead ones that do nothing but fluff out dungeon time
-"exploration" (and I use that term loosely) is also horrendous, Big open fields of nothing but some a few hidden treasure chests and maybe a code red here and there
-sterile, boring towns and cities with the exception being the few in the starting areas like hellaways and the capital

the strongest point of berseria were the character interactions and the solid cast (besides late game laphicet), that isn't enough to carry the game

-the combat system isn't mashing a single button, it's cookie cutter combos. Not much of an improvement but an improvement nontheless
-visuals were good for its time
-story is consistent without any retarded character being the centerpiece (although it does kinda falter after the kratos reveal but by that point the game is nearly over anyway)
-the music is more memorable with tunes like flanoir sticking out
-actual exploration with side areas
-dungeons have actual, fun puzzles that arnt hallways
-towns have a lot more charm rather than all being extremely similar

Vesperia is good, didn't like Xillia or Zestiria. Symphonia was good when it first came out but feels pretty old. Haven't played Berseria.

Graces has the best combat in the series but everything else is horrible.

exploration, dungeon design, fields with nothing is applicable to Graces, Xillia, Xiillia 2.
Graces is more fun to play and the art direction is alot better. thing is. the writting has no effort on it. you can do some crazy stuff with the combo system.
Vesperia have one of the best battle system in the series after an certain point in the game. the world is more colourful and feel more alive, the party interactions are really good too. also it have world map which leads to better designed dungeons.

Xillia games do have fun gameplay. but they are shallow with barely any content. Xillia 2 have a serious problem of you being forced to control Ludger for a good amount of the game. You also have to deal with so many reused assets that it hurts. because the assets of the first game are not good either.

Zestiria is an abomination. only two characters on the battle. base forms are useless. the party members are really shallow.

I just defeated Sync and Largo on the ruins

tales have always been mediocre jrpgs, the engine is really starting to show its age now. I'm sure they are pretty low budget projects. I hope one day they develop one with nice production values and a decent story but I doubt Baba will ever allow it
