Specializing isn't recommended since the spells are pretty much all supplementary to melee combat. Even the pure elemental projectiles are better used for applying elemental debuffs instead of pure damage.
Same goes for ninjutsu. Ninjutsu and onmyo are both utility specs rather than dedicated build candidates, unlike the Souls games. They're very viable used alongside your weapons though.

You can pretty much change your mind whenever you like. The game pretty much throws respec books at you. The odachi is only available if you have the DLC though.
Don't stress too much about sticking to builds. The game isn't meant to be played rigidly, you're encouraged to take from column A and column B as and when you feel like it.

It's kind like Ninja Gaiden dumbed down for Soulsfags, with Diablo map and Diablo loot.

I think it's VERY good for at least a single playthrough, but I dont think it has the same addictive nature of Diablo 2 or similar loot driven games.

PvP can be very unblaanced but fun nevertheless and the waifus are top tier even though they're very limited in screentime.

It's more comparable to a Ninja Gaiden/Onimusha hybrid with diablo loot system than Souls. The stance system is pretty fun, especially when you really get used to it, but the game has its flaws. The level design is weaker than Souls, and it reuses its enemy designs frequently. It doesn't feel like a AAA game.

Be aware of that going into it and you'll most likely get your money's worth out of it.

Does anyone else just love this game? The characters, the setting(I enjoyed learning about Japanese history), the bosses. All were so entertaining. My only complaints seem to be the common ones: the armor grind and the lack of enemies.

He was severely injured and amrita magic via his guardian spirit was acting as life support for him. It's a similar case to how Saiorse can undo William's deaths as long as he believes she exists.

I can't believe there's another difficulty, Way of the Demon is already fucked even with all the magic buffs and debuffs they altered how shit works now, sloth has different cooldowns per enemy or I think a boss I know mitsune it hardly even lasts on him while it can last longer on others.

So I got this game when it came out and I played it for a little bit but I was busy with work and college and I dropped it.

I started a new game and my problem with this game is that I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.

I get too much equipment and I can't tell what I should use. Sometimes I get two lvl 34 purple katanas with 6 different skills, how am I supposed to tell which one is better? It's even more complicated for armor.
