3d was relatively new at the time and it was simply a franchise trying to cash in on the latest greatest "thing".
The only practical way to make a video game is to do it entirely for money; unfortunately that's the worst possible way to make a video game.

They should have stuck to claymation and left it as a side scroller.
Horrible camera, bad controls, the poor visuals, and the fucking AWFUL bosses. I can't stress that enough, the bosses were so fucking dreadful in every way imaginable.

it's a shame because the concept of the game and the level ideas were really cool just executed without thought

combat is useless and fidgety
some of the guns are p cool though, like the one that decapitates cows, that was pretty fucking hardcore for a kids game
the hardest boss is also the first, it took me years to get past psycrow because of the pig controls, jesus christ
The team just rushed it because of the game was about to get into vaporware territory, leading into all the shit you should avoid in the genre (awful camera, bad controls, bad level desing, etc...)
The game was heavily based on the cartoon (which ended like 2 years or more after this game got released iirc), so the tone was weird in comparison to the previous ones (decapitating cows why).
It would have been decent if you didn't lose all your marbles (heh) after diying and the camera was good.
And the ending is a huge fuck you.
Wasn't the game rushed hard though?
