probably not. i really enjoyed 1, so i pre-ordered 2 and season pass. put a lot of time into it, but it's not the same as 1. when i saw tps had the exact same legs, i noped out of that game. also watched the cutscenes on youtube, noped even harder. i think i'm done with this series. at the very least, i might get it during steam sale if it looks interesting.

I just got 1 and 2 and started playing them recently. They're pretty decent, I like the loot and quest mechanics and the abilities are fun. I always see people shitting on them for the jokes and story, but honestly who gives a fuck? These games are more for the gameplay not the retarded story and characters.

The original lead writer and creative director came back to work on 3 but he left due to his failing health.
Hopefully he set Gearbox on the right track to not fuck everything up.

The problem with the gameplay is that it becomes so meaningless by 2, all weapons are shit, and the ones that aren't shit become shit by a level or two.

Missions feel like they're the same thing over and over again, and exploration is not encouraged in this "open world" game.

If they stop focusing on the original cast and prior events and just let us go back to Road Warrior "wandering gunman driving around shooting bandits" meets Diablo shit we had in the first game and move away from the corporate and political shit then it should be great.

After playing 1 and 2, I think this franchise will have nothing new to offer. I don't think Gearbox is brave or inventive enough to take their games to a whole new level.
