I still remember going to my first Evo last year and getting tickets for the finals at the Mandalay Bay

Guilty Gear was on before Melee, and the smash fans in the audience (at least around where I was sitting, can't speak for the other sections) were literally booing and yelling for them to hurry up so that Melee could start. During grand finals between Omito and Machaboo, a fucking awesome set of matches, I was having trouble enjoying it with all the hollering about "when's melee" and "no one wants to watch this" and things like that.

I never wanted to believe the stereotypes about smash players before that, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. But that was seriously terrible and has led me to believe that the majority of smash players really are that shitty and disrespectful of other games.

Don't hold your breath, even at super majors Smash 4 struggles to fill in their tournaments and usually the spectators are all players.

The 2GG (Smash 4 tourney org) place is actually really small in comparison with the places Melee fills up during its majors, Genesis filled the Civic Center, for example.

I started with SSF4 and that game was pretty fun even though i don't like the idea of ultras and focus attacks but ever since it died I've been trying to find another fighting game to play but they are either dead or have way too much stuff i dislike.

Genesis didn't fill shit. It was in a single hall of a convention center that had two other things happening in it. The Sunday theater was smaller and even with all of the games combined you could still find seating. The esports arena isn't big i'll give you that though. Any more than three hundred people and it starts to get crowded. Which is why they block the street off outside for the big ones like Civil War.

SFV is very entertaining BECAUSE it sucks. You can get last minute lucky crush counters into 60% damage with almost any character, and that makes for entertaining matches. It just sucks to play because you can be bodying someone the entire round and lose because you guess one thing wrong and there's no defensive options to help you fix your mistake.
