Discipline Priests get a nice staff animation for Light's Wrath, but that's the only one I know of. What's kind of funny is that they recently responded to a lot of the complaints about casters ignoring their weapons and are releasing new animations come 7.3; none of which we've seen actually utilize the weapons.

It's more likely that they'd try again doing a non-fantasy mmo. At least that wouldn't compete with wow as directly as wow 2 would.

This. Wow's engine is old as fuck, even older than WoW than a good 5 years. Game is in dire need of a new one, although I doubt they'd retcon anything. Blizzard is too high up their own ass to that shit. A new engine would also allow them to ditch tab target combat.

This sort of thing happened a long time ago when they went to create Ultima Online 2.

In the end they completely scrapped the entire game. This is because they realized that creating a new MMO costs an enormous amount of money and time. Also all the people that would be interested in playing it are currently playing Ultima Online, they would literally be poaching their own playerbase.

I wouldn't expect a WoW 2 ever, especially with how large WoW is still.
