Going above 60 fps causes faster response time.
Even if the Monitor is capped for 60 FPS, it will bring out the newest Picture that is ready for display.
Let's say your Screen has a delay of 8ms, and the Computer is rendering at 1000 fps. That is 1ms per picture then the resulting delay is 9ms.

G-Sync and Freesync have a high response time most of the time.
This gives a good player the ability to have better twitch shots. Especially CSGO and fast paced shooters like quake benefit from that.
imo. if you like shooter games and have the money, go read up some Monitor Benchmarks and grab the ones with the fastest response time and maybe 144fps.

If you're a pc enthusiast and have the money, go get a 1080 ti,
but it's more than enough to have a 1060 6gb.
