An alternative to what? Getting the console with the physical copies of the games? Not really. Just like Netflix & co aren't an alternative to owning physical copies of movies/shows.

That being said it works surprisingly well 2bh.

It's shit and borderline unplayable for 90% of the catalogue

Only games that work are REALLY simplistic ones like 2d platformers and shit, everything else is just a laggy mess input and FPS wise.

Just buy the ps3 games and a ps3 honestly, the subscription fee isn't even worth it.
