A tiny handful of jumps got harder, most of the platforming is easier. I only ever beat Slippery Climb once on original Crash, once ever. In the remake I got the Red Gem first time playing the level and got a Gold Relic without too much trouble. The level hasn't changed, but the new physics make platforming easier.

Exceptions are the fucking Turtles, the hitbox is too small and they aren't bouncy enough (similar problem with the tentacled robots in Crash 2 space station levels). I hope they patch them but leave Crash himself' mechanics untouched.

Maybe I'm biased because I played it a lot growing up but I think a finished Twinsanity would be the best Crash game. Almost all of the pieces are in place but they just needed to be tied together properly for the game to flow properly.

I guess it's because Wrath is my first, and even though I can't stand to play it these days I still love this rendition of the Warp Room.

My gripes with the remakes
>music is soft in parts where there should be emphasis and ultimately feels muted in comparison
>hitboxes are round and not square meaning you slip off ledges or die when you jump on the side of enemies
>crash's animations in 1 and 2 look strange at times but they're perfect in 3
>the villain redesigns are unimpressive and fail to emphasise their key traits
>the fur makes every model look dull and without a clear outline
>the voice acting is sub-par on all fronts and inflection is either non existent or all wrong
>the animations for the villains look strange during cutscenes because their body actions don't match what the emotion in their script AND/OR they jerk around too much and it looks crazy
>the colors in some level look too soft and bland, but crash 3 stands out as solving this problem for the most part

That's all I can think of. It's better than the original aside from these complaints. The Crash 3 remake feels like they learned a lot throughout the dev process but didn't get time to go back and apply that knowledge to the first 2 games.

They replaced his slight low-angle shot with a straight medium shot. Also, in the original intro he is sniffing around with his mouth closed, then makes an inquisitive sound followed by him roaring. In the N Sane intro, he is making 3 inquisitive sounds with his mouth hanging open followed by a roar with weird white outlines.

I know Crash is a series that shouldn't be taken seriously, but going by what they did with Tiny, Cortex, and Uka Uka >>383572490 , it seems that the remake missed the point about the original games' tone. It wasn't just that the villains were cartoon-y, it was that they were crazy or intimidating villains getting defeated in a cartoon-y manner.

I found Piston it Away easier since you didn't have to do ice dodging bullshit. Just reach the end of Piston It Away and turn around. If you're lucky you can get an invincibility mask for the end and run through all the enemies and shit. Shrink ray shots are a lot easier to dodge when you know you can spin them and that they'll be shooting you as you run away, instead of towards them.

Lot of slide jumps and shit needed to get back, but besides that, the Death Route has a checkpoint box in it after some trivial "dodge enemy" shit.

They were the two parts I had the most trouble with. With CHC it got to the point where I only managed to do it because they were giving me 2 Aku Aku masks and I picked up one to run through the Nitros. I don't remember either being too bad in the original.

What's worse is that as far as I can tell it's impossible to get both gems at the same time. To get the box gem you need to backtrack on the death course back to the beginning to return to the main course, both to collect a new box created by the ! at the end and to continue getting boxes on the main course. Meanwhile, if you get the extra gem that's just floating there it drops you off later in the level, with no way go back and get a bunch of boxes from the main path. But maybe I'm wrong and there is a way to get both in one go, but from as far as I can tell you basically need to do the death course twice (three times if you count the backtracking as a separate instance).
