The components to protect the pc from brownouts, overcurrent, spikes, low current, overload are of higher quality and better implemented in your modern computer's power supply.
You are basically wasting the power supply as it will protect the power surge protector in a catastrophic event, not the other way around. Yes, the opposite way around. The surge 'protector' negatively impacts your pc and the modern power supply. Yes this happens for some reason.
The 'power conditioning' power ironing units dont help much at all either unless you buy a industrial $1500 model.

You only need proper grounding and electrical installation for your computer with such a power supply to be safe (especially for something like static electricity buildup and discharging that happens on it's own on the inside of the case).

Don't buy a shitty surge protector for your pc, they're pretty much all shitty. Plug your cable modem or router or tv whatever else that would need surge protection in it. Not the PC
