Valve should just let them develop Half-Life 3. Hire the key

Why would they hire Laidlaw and Pinkerton when they've already written the story for the game? Valve are just holding off because of Source 2, they probably already have all the assets sorted.

Bethesda would not let them go.

You can't just have one version of the script and expect it to fit through the end of development as the game goes through countless revisions and chunks are removed and added. Sure you could substitute them with other writers but that would be a worse decision than keeping the originals.

I'm sorry Anon, but Valve is not making Half-Life 3. Laidlaw, Pinkerton, Wolpaw, etc, didn't leave because it's finished. They left because they were writers at a company that doesn't make single player games anymore.
