Just picked up this game. Liking it a lot so far, I wanted to try out the co-op campaign with a friend, but I've heard that the co-op experience is rather lackluster.
Do you not have the story quests and unique victory conditions in the co-op campaign? Is the co-op campaign worth playing? I've heard you can't coop as the same faction. Is it fun to go as Dwarfs/Empire or Chaos/Beastmen?

>story quests
No
>unique victory conditions
No, the condition to win is co-owning a a specific number of provinces and settlements and having alot of units
>co-op worth playing
Yes, its pretty fun and both players can play in the same battle because the owner of the units can gift units.

You can if there are two starting locations for them, such as Greenskins with the default Greenskins and Savage Orks or Vampire Counts.
You get a diplomatic penalty just for doing co-op, so if you do Empire/Dwarf just expect getting allies near you to be pretty hard.
There is also a mod that has alternate start points or something, and if both of you have that mod then you can do Dwarf/Dwarf or Empire/Empire.
Another flaw of co-op is you get much less events such as flooding, happy/unhappy populous, and such things

you still get quest battles

I didn't mention them, thought he meant like Bretonnia's story quest which is their campaign win condition.
Quest battles are tied to characters so obviously they will stay

I see. It's a bit of a bummer that you have less of the story elements, though I'm glad that there are still the character quests.
