I have an OG Sniper Rifle (the one that got discontinued, Snipetron I think it's called) and it's got a hefty weight to it, enemies do infact flinch and heads pop. The gunplay is fine in that regard.

It's had a surprisingly large player base since launch. You don't hear about it much, but it's defiantly pretty high up on the list of MMOs, as far as player count.

LoL Is a far larger game than Warframe, you can't compare the two like that. Servers aren't crazy expensive to host anymore, so most of the money online games get go directly to the developers (other than marketing fees, Steam tax and whatever)

Sustaining the game is also different from improving the game and working on more products. Warframe updates super slowly. There will be gaps of up to a year before any big update arrives, and usually its not that crazy. Often time it just reuses built-in assets.

I know they're making some weird new game also. But again, after how long? Digital Extremes is a pretty decent sized company. Not Bungie size, but defiantly not small.

Impact damage is typically the rating on a weapon in Warframe that determines flinch. Explosive will cause ragdoll. Specific weapons only have knockdown, knockback, or drag (harpoon) and other than that most status effects will cause a reaction from the enemies.

I know what you mean with "gunplay" though. Destiny has the Halo feel. Good sound feedback, appropriate kick, predictable flinches, even good vibration feedback. Although most lieutenant class enemies only react if you break their shield and hit them in a weak spot and most bosses only flinch at certain breakpoints. Not that Warframe has anything even close.

The best gunplay in Warframe comes mostly from alternate fire modes on many guns, like harpoons and javelins and manual detonation charges. Other than that it's basically gotta be one of the meaty weapons with high impact and good status and a good sound, like the magnums or bows or flechettes or explosives or lever actions. Love me some Grinlok ping-click. You can get similar effects to what you want from Destiny with the right builds but a lot of times it feels less meaty due to certain animations interrupting the gunplay in really lame ways like how a lot of statuses that aren't impact/explosive/knockdown will have the same animation every time no matter where you hit them with it or how most trash mobs will die in one hit from many weapons and their death animations are not very diverse without statuses, pretty much just regular death, headshot death, and status/dismemberment deaths. Destiny has some of that, like how every time you pop a Fallen's head off the same animation of ether rushing out their neckhole plays but I do feel like the enemies in Destiny feel more weighty than in Warframe while both Alive or Dead. Like, it's weird to say, but getting melee'd in Destiny feels better than being melee'd in Warframe. Most of the sounds and visual/visceral feedback in Warframe pales in comparison as well with a few noteworthy exceptions.

New Void system let you play whatever mission and still earn Void Reward, using Void Key.
You can even choose other people reward so you can bring a shit key and still get the rarest drop if one of your teammate roll that drop.

I played Warframe til the """"endgame"""" which was iirc just farming void towers or whatever it was called for prime gear (this was some years ago now) and that guy is right. The guns pretty much all have piss sound effects which makes them a lot less satisfying to use than they could be. It just doesn't feel right to use some ultra powerful gun that literally impales enemies to the walls and not having some heavy soundeffects booming out of your headphones to go with it. You also don't get any sweet gun animations since it's 3rd person.

I don't think Destiny is that great at gun effects either though. For orgasmic guns I'd sooner think of Killzone, Metro 2033 or Killing Floor 2.

By actually having end-game content like Raids? And decent PVP?

I like Warframe but it's more of a mindless game to doze off to while doing an hour long survival mission with friends, casually spamming skills that clear entire rooms.
I'm curious to see what they'll do with the open world, but let's be real, it'll be one area for now, we'll explore it for a handful of hours and eat the content up, then there's nothing left other than going back to the normal grind. Custom weapons look fun though.

Sorry to disappoint but Destiny is one of the most consistently played shooters on both platforms. You MUST be drunk if you think 1.5million daily players years after release is low.
Yesterday there were close to 1 million players, but we're nearing Destiny2 (and Destiny2's beta is in a week) so it's only natural that the population is lower just before the game's death

I'm glad DE are taking Destiny 2 seriously this time.

In itself it's not a big deal, it being on the blizzard launcher is fucking huge.

Warframe has always changed directions based on a whim or a popular game's earnings report. On top of that, the shit they release is always halfassed and never tested. I honestly would be surprised if the map completely breaks during the first week.

That's why DE are trying to balance things out slowly by nerfing frames and weapons. If only damage 3.0 would be somehow mix of current state and previous one, with armor penetration. And enemies would be tougher, but in lesser amounts, even if that would mean less loot. And normal stealth modifiers for stealth attacks, not current "i enter invisibility and suddently have x8 melee damage even if all enemies are alerted and aim in exact point i'm standing at". Stealth should reward not with additional exp, but with percentage additional damage on all weapons. And, what's even better, stealth should add amount of percents depending on alertness of enemies and on their possibility to see you. So, for example, (numbers are completely random) enemy, who get shot down with bow, gets the same 800% damage, alerted enemy, who don't see you, gets 400%, alerted with stage alert receives only 200%, enemy, who sees you, doesn't receive additional damage.

I know, and they are barebones by comparison, at BEST they are comparable to Destiny's weekly Nightfall strikes, even then Warframe's """""raids"""" are much easier since all you do is find the fastest way to cheese each mission since the game isn't balanced at all (and isn't supposed to be, like I said Warframe is a "mindless fun" kind of game, nothing else)

Rivens, the mechanic that is actually worse than Japanese gacha shit in their freemium moblie games, fixes everything. And whatever it doesn't fix is already excellent. The game balance and scaling are spot on as long as you're not some level 1 shitter. Grinding to relevel each thing six times is the most fun I've had in video games. Putting up the same thing but in red color and calling it a different gun is quality content.

This is the bestest, perfectest game on God's Green Earth, and I'm sorry but you're in denial if you don't accept that.
