Does anyone know if aiming a light at an IPS panel in a dark room will darken the blacks? I'm not talking about ambient light, I mean aiming spotlight at the screen so the rest of the room is dark.

For the most part, IPS panels are great in well lit rooms, but they are shit for horror games because you have to turn off the lights. I'm wondering if there's a cheap solution to the greatest drawback of IPS panels. I don't know shit about how light and eyes work. Would the light have to be aimed at the screen from behind me or placed directly behind the screen to have the intended effect?
