It's not always sunny, the time system is 5x so sometimes you can come into a raid at night, dusk, and dawn. Not to mention it can be rainy, windy, or a thunder/lightning storm. I agree that the sunny days suck, but its a lot harder to hear people when its raining and hearing is definitely required to survive.

Alpha player here, EOD edition. I can offer my opinions if you care.
I'm a sport shooter, and a vidya tactical shooter junkie; SWAT 3/4, ARMA 1/2/3, Rainbow 6 1/2/3, old school Ghost Recon, Project Reality, Squad etc. Also a big STALKER fan.

I really like Tarkov but it's got major issues:

Firstly this game is not worth the current price tag. Especially the higher tiers which get you into the alpha immediately. I was gifted the EOD edition by a group of friends who I play together with. They got impatient and all splurged on it, and its become one of our big things.

I really like the authenticity, the gear and weapon customization is gun nerd level autism.

The sound design is also spectacular. Really immersive firefights. Its the closest thing I've experienced in a video game to the actual sound experience of kicking in a fucking door and mag dumping rifles in a confined room. Its pulse quickening. Its tense. Dying in this game is almost a jump scare and I fucking love it.

The biggest problems right now are lack of content, AI difficulty issues, and game/weapon/equipment balance. But more concerning than this is there is still no real clear picture yet of "what this game actually is" or "what it will be".

Is it an MMO shooter? a survival game? a raid shooter? Right now all you do is go into levels, kill or be killed and steal/hoard/loot gear which you then gamble by taking into the next mission.

I have this uncomfortable feeling the devs don't yet know what they want this game to be.

Another issue imo is this game only really shines when you're in a group of 3 or more players. Its not unplayable solo, but having some friends on discord really makes it much more enjoyable. You can coordinate your sweeps through the level. You can cover eachother and defend areas while 1 of your friends loots bodies. You can lure and flank players and overall its much more exciting.

This is why I'm still playing. That stuff is fun. But there's way too many solo players who just spawn into levels, grab 1 thing and sprint for the exit. When you do encounter groups of coordinated human players though its great.

pretty shit desu, great graphics along with optimization but there is nothing to do except looting and after few runs your stash is full. They recently upgraded ai so they take cover and are super aggressive and also have aimbot so they can kill you easily.

Preordered in December but didn't get into alpha since I bought the base game.


Game looked hype as fug and I bought it on a whim. But now it looks disappointing and I'm done tricking myself since I already spent the money. The item system and item loss looks god tier but going around meeting someone every 5 minutes and then playing 1-2 switch cowboy draw again and again just seems retarded. It can't just be a game where you spawn in an area with like 5 other enemies where the map is like a gorillion miles long and you play hide and seek.
