Bland? I played it for the first time a year ago and it was a great experience. It's true that the story mode could have been fleshed out a bit more, particularly with the main villain who fucking disappears after Halloween, but climbing the ranks through the cliques was fun as shit.

I dont get why they released a full HD anniversary edition for phones but ignored consoles/PC completely. Like wtf

Yeah I got that, but I still wanted more appearances from him, especially leading up to the final battle. Even just one more mission where he shows his face again and directly fucks with you right before the final would have satisfied me. Make no mistake, I had fun with the final mission, but they underutilized Gary.

Gary was a sociopath. I hated that kid. The desire to get revenge on him was what pulled me in.

When I got stuck on the final biology class it wasn't a big deal because I knew I would eventually get to kick Gary's ass.

I dropped it when winter came. It felt like the game lacked something but I don't know what.
The music was pretty damn good, though

Replayed it a little ago.
Still holds up.

IMO better than ANY GTA. Better than SA, V, IV, VC, etc. (never played RDR).

Graphics STILL DO hold up unless you expect them to compare to GTA V. The only function missing that modern games spoiled me to have is auto saving. I was once playing and got pretty fucking far without saving before i got a power cut out.

Weapon stats, sure, maybe. But swimming?
The lack of swimming in VC was the thing that turned me off from using boats at all. I didn't want to die because I didn't get off the boat correctly.
