It's a better made game.
The world has purpose and the levels are natural environments of that world, all seamlessly connected with holding screens. It has a great back story and a magical/fantasy atmosphere that you don't see much now a days in games. It's better than Banjo and Mario by far.

It's alright. EVERYTHING that came after it was a solid improvement on it though. Mind you, it has a lot of heart that the later games in the series totally LACK, but the story is blaaaaaaaah, the interactions with the world are duuuuuuuuuh, and the advancement of the story is "ummm collect 300 lemons!lol!" Not REALLY a "better" experience, desu.

Sunshine is better than 64
It's a decent game, but I don't think it holds up 16 years later. Unlike Mario 64, the platforming is rather braindead, and the mechanics are too simple to formulate real challenges around. It's a dumb collectathon with a nice art style that served the early PS2 era well, but Jak 3 has much more to offer.
