posting in epic thread!!11!
Meant to ask which game from the original trilogy was the best.

I liked 3 the most, but the others were great as well.

Same here, Year of the Dragon is by far my favorite game :)
Is he a dragon, a wyvern, or a drake?
would a Spyro remaster be possible? gameplay-wise it would be fairly simple to replicate, but the games rely on a very specific artstyle to achieve the magical realm-like feel the levels have, there was some big report on color theory in Spyro but I don't have the pic

Yeah, getting the atmosphere right in a potential remaster would be a challenge. That said, if they did get it right, I'm sure it would be amazing.
And here's the report on color theory.
I've only played the first one.It alright.

The original is still the best.

>Spyro the Dragon

tfw can't find this one at a good price.

I think it's 2, while 3 went a bit overboard with new stuff. It's 2 > 1 > 3 for me, all fun still.
>>383552208
I used to think 2 was the best, after replaying all 3 it's obvious that 1 is. 1 has such an elegant simplicity, it doesn't overextend itself and it has a mystical atmosphere that the others don't have.
>>383553702
If it gets remastered I HOPE they keep the original Soundtrack done by Stewart Copeland, it just wouldn't be the same without it.
>>383552208
they're all great, but imo it's 1 > 3 > 2
Everyone thinks 2 is the best. It did improve the series no doubt, but it feels shorter than the others. Probably because each hub world is based on a season, but there's no autumn hub world. One thing I didn't like about the first game was how empty each level felt after you completed it. 2 fixed this by adding characters for each level, but they were all annoying as fuck.

>dark hollow
my nigga
>>383553180
I guarantee that whoever remastered it would fuck with the music and ruin the whole thing. I would only trust bluepoint to remaster it.
>>383552208
I loved 2 the most honestly.
>>383552208
2 > 1 = 3
>>383554309
While I love the original (it was the first game I ever played), compared to the other 2 it feels repetitive.
>>383554308
They could've just called Cooperland again
>>383552208
For me it's 2>3>1
3 went a little too crazy with the gimmicks and minigames, and getting dragon eggs doesn't feel that rewarding to me, I don't know why. As for 1, while I don't think it's a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, I feel as though it has a bunch of problems that are mainly associated with it being the first game in the series both in gameplay and in presentation. If someone asked me to show them the perfect video game, I would show them Spyro 2.

>That blur
My eyes.
Playing Spyro 1 is like sleeping in extremely late on a Sunday and phasing in and out of weird dreams. There's no difficulty or engaging mechanics, but you don't want to stop.
>>383554770
Just for you.
>>383552208
1 for sure, 2 has some absolutely gorgeous levels but they are overall a lot more linear compared to 1 and 3. 3 has too many minigames that just aren't as fun.
1>2>3
>>383552208
2 = 1 > 3
all of them are good in their own way tho

>that sly look on elora's face
she wants that DD
>>383551908
>found the collectors edition of all the spyro games for $10 each at a thrift store
1 > 2 > 3
2 had better level design but they ruined it with some shitty orb minigames, 1's pure platforming superiority edges it above 2
>>383552208
2>3>1
>>383553852
Bet me to it!
