This game is too fucking long
>>383546354
That's what your mom said about my dick birch
It can be spedrun is 40 minutes.
>>383546484
Yeah but that'd require knowing everything about the game, it's shortcuts, the strats, all that good stuff
going in blind means you'll be taking the scenic route in its full backtracking and boss battling glory
>>383546484
oh man I can't wait to beat this fucking game so I can watch a speedrun after. I want to see it get ripped apart
so's my dick BINCH!
>>383546354
>this game has too much content REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
What's it like being a fucking retard?
>>383548812
Cheap indie games should be short and replayable, especially Metroidvanias. Only $60 games should have tons of content
>>383548812
Padding a game out for an extra 10 hours doesn't make it better.
Look at Deus Ex. Could cut out the entire middle 10 hours and it would be an even better game.
>>383548945
This almost sounds like an ironic post
>2380 essences
>tfw even after looking at guides I don't know what I'm missing
>>383549027
The game isn't padded out, though.
It's all content.
You're fucking dumb.
>>383546484
Don't even start with this shit you bastard, you know what you're doing
>>383549089
have you absorbed every single spirit/ghost
like not even the warriors
just the regular ass spirits you find at graves and stuff like Joni or gravekeeper
I think I have given up on Lost Kin.
>>383549089
You probably missed a tree somwhere. There's one hidden in the Crossroads if you haven't found that one.
>>383549027
It's not padding though.
Every area, enemy and boss feels different and fun. There may be a little too much backtracking, but that's all.
>>383549278
>too much backtracking
So it's padded then. Glad we settled this.
>>383549276
>There's one hidden in the Crossroads
fuck, that's it. ty
>>383549327
only when you don't know what you're doing, replaying it you'd have almost zero backtracking.
>playing game for first time
>no idea what to do
>dialogue with npcs end with nothing gained
>crying caterpillar man looks important but wont tell me why hes crying or how to fix it
THE FUXK DO I DO IN THIS GAME!?
That's how I feel about pretty much every shitroidvania, every game drags on forever and feels padded out.
>>383549485
What's it like being brain dead?
>>383549485
Explore
>>383549485
It has Dark Souls style lore and storytelling. Just ignore it and explore everywhere
>>383549485
Caterpillar man is upset that his caterpillar boys are missing
Track them down by the sounds of their whimpering and sobbing and free them, then return to caterpillar man for a money reward for each caterpillar rescued
What's the problem with backtracking?
>>383550569
ADHD children that have never played a Metroidvania before can't handle it.
>>383550569
I shouldn't have to play the same part of a game twice.
>>383550759
>implying that's even the case
You can't actually be this dumb.
>>383550529
fuck you caterpillar sympathizer
>>383546354
Is it? I'm on my first playthrough and I just met the Hornet guard again in the Capital.
do I still have a long way to go?
>>383550569
I loved the game, but I guess I'll bite.
When you reach a spot you can't progress because you don't have the ability yet, you look somewhere else. There's always somewhere else to keep going while exploring. The problem is when you run out of places to go AND you have obtained new abilities - which now means you need to go back to places you were before in order to see which ones you can progress through. It's tough to remember every single location you stopped progressing in.
You can see each individual spot on the map where you stopped moving forward - they have little open ended icons on the map. But that doesn't say what ability is required in that location, you have to go check it yourself. If one of these spots is really out of the way, it takes maybe 5-10 minutes to get there. Spend the time going there, and then you find out it's not actually somewhere you can go yet still. You then have to go check another.. which takes another 5-10 minutes.
This situation can happen several times in a playthrough. I personally don't mind it, I love the genre, but I can understand why this annoys people.
>>383551359
I've seen people say it took them anywhere between 20-40 hours for their first playthrough. I'm 11 hours in myself and still constantly running into things I can't do yet
>>383552017
have you considered just believing yourself and just 'doing it'?
Can the infected crossroads be undone or is the comfiness ruined forever now
Why is there no fucking warp?
It's so goddamn tedious to collect shit.
>>383546484
>spedrun
>>383553423
>there's a bro ass insect nigger that you can ride on
>there is a charm that enables auto collect
This nigger
>>383546354
not in defence of hollow knight but about the statement "This game is too fucking long"
there's no such thing as a game being too long, you want it to last forever but you there's a end to it, you consume it, that's why you play other games to consume
>>383546354
Its not too long, but theres way too much empty space. Getting from place to place takes way too long, and the subway stations are barely useful
>Radiance
Fuck I thought I was free from platforming segments
>>383556953
Eh also i don't think it's too long
If you don't want to explore shit just follow the path that Cornifer gives you
>>383556953
