Maybe 8-10 years ago, I begged my mother to buy me a graphics card. I am from a poor family, so I settled for one of the cheapest even if the price was still high for us.

It was a GTS 250. It was nice, but I think I was bottlenecked by my ram an cpu, since the pc was an already built HP from the store.

Anyways, the whole point is that I have finally built my own good rig, with the latest Titan Xp. But I kinda get emotional seeing you guys and knowing that back in the days I was like you and could only dream of having such a rig.

I am still poor by the way. The only difference is that I know I will kill myself this year, so I am spending my high school savings on everything.

Life is shit. I feel bad for my parents who had to endure an ill kid locked in his room playing video games.

how much could a R9 290 sell for these days?

Definitely not a toaster but the CPU is almost 6 years old and I think I should upgrade it soon. I'd also get 16gb ram ddr4 and a new PSU.

I might get a 7700k but the ryzen 1700 looks good. Seems like the 7700k is slightly better for gaming.

Main rig has a GTX 660 for the main GPU and a GT 440 144 as the secondary GPU.

The x58 spare rig has a GTX 460. On top of that, I have a pair of GTX 260 Core 216s and a Radeon HD 4870x2 that i can fall back on to using if necessary.

The GTX 295 I have could also be used, but it's got damage to the main PCB that occasionally results in it locking up.

GTX 760 2GB

Still holds up pretty well.

GTA V runs in high settings at 1080p and 60fps.

AssCreed Syndicate runs in high settings at 1080p at 30fps.

Shame I've got a FX-6300. Even if I upgrade my GPU, I'm still fucked.

My brother has an i7 920 with 8GB DDR3 and a 1TB 7200rpm HDD mounted on a DX58SO. Shit was doing very good with a 570GTX Twin Frozr III until he burned the video card. It was able to run Witcher 3 at High settings at 30fps I think.

I have a GTX 285 SLI/i5 4690k/8GB setup in my offline rig to play PC vidya on my 36" Sony CRT. I can play anything that supports DirectX 10 and supports a resolution of 640x480 through 1024x768 because of how limited S-Video is. I'm not the type of person who needs the absolute best all the time. Recently I did a full upgrade from my 2012 laptop to an up to date 2017 desktop. In actuality not much has changed besides the fact that it runs faster, I can play DS III and Nier Autonoma, and I can play all of my old games in full HD. For the most part I have just been going back through my older stuff, including emulation, and playing it on a bigger monitor. Im satisfied, will be for a long time.
