I fucking loved it. The combat was very good in my opinion. I loved how it flowed. The climbing doesnt really make sense though.. you'll see what I mean when you play it.
But the nemesis system and saurons army and the warchiefs were really cool. Unfortunately the game gets wayyyy to easy towards the end.
I still loved it though.

I played through the first area on the free weekend. I have mixed feelings about it. The basic mechanics (Bamham combat, stealth, open world exploration) are all braindead easy. However, it does add some things on top which make it enjoyable, like the nemesis system. And occasionally the game does throw a challenge at you which requires you to have at least some understanding of the game's nuances. Also the plot is complete nonsense and should not be taken seriously, it's Tolkien only on the most superficial level. I got spoiled on the ending but even before that the MC is a giant gary stu, like Force Unleashed level, it's a mindless power fantasy.
