I appreciate it for what it is. People who say it replaces the original don't understand that this was such a fundamentally different game compared to it that it truly can't, but it's not bad and does its job well as a launch title like the original did

Also the only time we ever played as Yoshi solo in 3D

It's fine. It would be pretty much perfect with analog controls but it's certainly playable as is.

Came too early.
Wouldve been perfect on the 3DS.

My biggest complaints are the controls but the DS didn't have an analogstick or whatever. It's still good but not as good as the originals controls.

I liked the new worlds but I thought that some stuff (eg caps) requiring specific characters was a bit annoying.
