I have been getting my ass kicked in expert, and i'm only in 2nd stratum in untold 2.

It is harsh, but you can learn to get around by using the right grimoires. You can't even auto trash, or else you will get wiped fast. Not mentioning that you actually make use of the items and shit as well, with the food.
