My general thought is that 3 and 4 have very similar girls, just the ones from 3 have extra distinct "quirks", while the ones from 4 have more subdued (And thus less memorable) quirks, but have more story and depth to them.

I did found similitudes between the characters the first time I played it

Like a very obvious example was Daria and Margaret which both happen to be elven artists, but thats where the similitudes ended.

Daria was an eccentric artist with a catchphrase who was afraid of falling in love because she was an immortal elf

Margaret was an artist with tons of insecurities because she left it all to travel the world

While to me, Daria is more memorable, I have to agree that Margaret was a more rounded up character, maybe its more a matter of taste

Pico is a cute sister figure and very enduring. She gets jealous as fuck at first when you ask Dolce out but she knows her place and leaves you alone when you go on dates. She even plays a bit of a wingman helping you understand Dollies' feelings better. Plus it's hilarious when you take her out fighting since Pico herself is dolces' weapon.

Dollies outfit is cute as fuck. Gothic lolita is as patrician an outfit as it gets. Her fucking top hat does get annoying though.

You sure fucking can change their weapons. But their unique skills stay the same. IE Dolce always throws Pico at enemies, Xiao will always trip over even if you give her new shoes.

If you want to enjoy all of them, start with 1 or 2. If you want to squeeze out as much enjoyment as possible in a short time, start with 3 or 4.
Every game is good, but various quality of life improvements make playing backwards very hard. Playing 3 after 4 is probably yhe least painful transition, but playing 1 or 2 after playing 3 or 4 is hard as fuck.
Frontier and Tides are a bit different, you can probably play them in any order.

Monsters lose value as the game goes on, because it takes more to raise their stats when you can just craft overpowered equipment for yourself and your party. Plus because of that you have more leniency in who you can take so just grab whoever you like in battle.

But Marvelous is bringing Rune Factory 5 to Switch. They got the original team before the Neverland shut down. Trust me Marvelous is listening to what fans want on their social page.

Early on, Forte is rock solid, Margaret and Dulce are useful, Clorica is surprisingly useful, and Bado can statbrick a silly number of early threats, if he ever decides to attack them.
Early-Midgame, Monsters get really good with their meaty HP stats. Humans still have interesting abilities, though at this point humans like Bado become useless. You want humanoids with tricks, not muscle.
Late-Midgame, the gear you can give humans outperforms any monster, barring maybe the bosses.
Endgame, The stats of a level 300 monster that has been fed a few-days worth of crafting materials utterly shit on any human you could possibly equip, including yourself. You just sit there and laugh as your basic-bitch orc smashes things, let alone if you have recruited a boss

The first boss is one of my favorite monsters to use. Otherwise I had a mimic that won a lot of the early game, and I used Forte and Clorica as well.

One thing I didn't like about this game was that axe and hammer shared a moveset. I love axes in games but they did not feel unique even with different functionality. Another thing is that I needed to reach high skill levels to learn recipes, thereby being able to give good weapons to my party, so I needed to switch around weapons anyway. This is why I didn't really care for Forte much. I thought her whole pre-marriage event was pretty poorly conveyed and resolved too. Eeryone keeps reminding you how important Kiel is to her, and then she grows some balls or something and resolves everything at the last minute and completely recants her earlier statement about having Kiel to fall back on if she lost you, saying she'd have nothing to live for instead.
Which was kind of sweet but felt like she was throwing Kiel under the bus, and looking back on it now it seems like the real conflict wasn't with her dad but was some sort of possession story about winning her away from her brother.
