I played 1, 3, 4, 5, demo for 6. 5 was easily my favorite of the bunch. Also had the best music.

well if you wanna play gt5 you would wait a long time just to download all the patches that came out before day one and then install extra stuff just to make to loading times bearable. So short answer:no.
Just stick with the first 4 games. Those are really good. If you never played one just start with 3.

They seem to have noticed Asetto Corsa and Project Cars don't have GT mode so they must have figured "OH WAITO PIGGU DONTA RIKE GT MODO". Literally the only reason I don't like those two games is because of the lack of a GT mode substitute.

I think they just doesn't have resources for full new gt game, hell, they used gt4 cars in previous games to fill cars pool with something.
They make this for some quick dosh and to able to release something before ps5.

Was on the fence about buying a PS4 for this, but then I realized that I'd pretty much have to get Playstation Plus to fully enjoy it seeing as its heavily online-oriented.

Really wish there was a nice AAA driving simulator with a splash of cruising for the PC.

They rebooted the roster because people will chimp the fuck out if they used PS2 or PS3 cars still. They only have time and money for less than 200 cars and this isn't 2001 anymore so they needed an excuse to do some half spin off.
