So, Windows 10 has fucked up La-Mulana's graphics in a variety of interesting ways- slowdown in fullscreen mode, grey blocks around most of the moving sprites, and invisible text when using the scanner, to name a few. Anyone know of any patch or workaround for this?
Have you tried compatibility mode?

I have the same problem in windows 8.1. Haven't found anything yet. Compat mode doesn't do anything.

Shit sucks. Game's not perfect on windows 7 either, but downloading the font.bmp on the wiki fixed the blank script for me. Hope this helps.

why is this allowed?
Which LA mulana version? I'm playing it just fine on the steam version

Why do bother playing old, outdated games goy? Download the newest, hottest games from the Windows Storeā¢ instead.
Works fine on mine ;^)

These are the DirectX DLLs that come with WINE, and have helped me fix screen issues in many old Windows games.

Start up the game and press Alt+Enter to exit fullscreen mode to fix framerate issues.
Press F7 to resize the window to your liking
Close the game and right click on lamulana.exe, then select properties
Click the Compatibility tab and check the checkbox for "Reduced Color Mode"
Use the drop-down menu to choose "16-bit (65536) color"
Close the properties window, and start the game
