My favorite game, I wish more people knew about it
This game was pretty good. I certainly didn't expect the story to be as engaging as it was.
It was pretty much time traveling MacGyver.

I downloaded it many years ago with no great expectations, but I got hooked from the very start. It should be made into a book
Just ordered this a few days ago for ~$5. I'm hoping to get my money's worth. I was under the (mistaken?) impression that some of the Silent Hill team worked on it, which piqued my curiosity.
>>383507364
Probably my #1 underrated gem of the PS2 era. I love it.
>>383508518
I believe so but I'd have to go look who.
>>383507364
I played the PSP version. I love it, it's a hidden gem.
>>383507364
It was such a surprise to learn Homunculus was voiced by Charles Martinet. The guy has range.
>>383509397
Yeah, I love the Homunculus voice
>>383508518
Is it the PC version? I really want to try it, but apparently it doesn't run on any modern PC
>>383509973
>Is it the PC version?
PS2. I was lucky on an auction.
Speaking of Silent Hill, I also had heard that a few worked on Siren so I am trying to find a cheap copy of that as well.
>>383510373
if you have a ps4 you can get it for ~$5 for a digital copy.
>>383511216
Is it on the PS store?
>>383509397
Yeah it's easy to forget Martinet has a lot of range and is a stage actor
>>383512067
yes, not the one where you can only play if you're paying the sub.
psp or ps2 version?
>>383514102
PS2 version for better voice acting, PSP version for all the small fixes (there are a LOT of problems with the PS2 versions, such as out-of-context phrases and such) and it's easier to emulate
>>383514102
PS2. The VA might still be pretty laughable at times, but at least most of the voices fit instead of being obvious anime VAs.
>>383514286
>out-of-context phrases
Like what? Most I recall were just the original dub mispronouncing things like Wagner's name and a few other big words that the VAs botched like many early game dubs.

three days in a row

DAMN
Dana is my waifu now
>>383507749
It handles its time-traveling rules pretty well. Not perfectly, but let's be honest, every depiction of time travel has something about it that people will take issue with.
>>383515284
The girls were pretty cute
>>383514657
I can't remember any specific ones, but I've watched the PS2 walkthrough at least three times plus all the times I emulated it. There were a lot of small changes to even words that sounded weird in the context
>>383515445
Can't think of anything myself, and I played it to near 100% (got all of the endings, but still missed a few scenario changes). Granted, some line deliveries were weird, but hey, it was the early years of games with full VO and most of the people they got back then were probably not even full-time actors.

Every day until you play it
>mfw some retard said the game had bad gameplay design just because he found the dogs blocking your path unrealistic
>he personally preferred invisible walls instead

First time I've seen this thread
As a kid I used to think the MC looked like Valmont from Jackie Chan Adventures.
>>383507364
One of my first PS2 games. Such a nice atmosphere. I miss those weird and interesting "B-games". Those are not made often these days. Most Indie games just can not compete.
>>383515087
man, this lady could use a firm seed injection.
>>383518236
Agreed
I wish they would put it on ps4 or steam, I would get all the achievements, loved it.
>>383518550
Would be nice to see the game get a serious face lift. While it isn't too hard on the eyes, to see it get prettier would be nice if only to refresh the experience in some way. If I knew dick about programming, I'd probably do something myself with a decent game engine.
>>383508518
From what I recall, members of the original team did work on it, while others (like the guy behind Siren and Gravity Rush) went on to do their own thing. The head writer was involved with SH as I understand, and one of the sound team.
>>383518536
>breasts
Homunculus has no gender
>>383507364
Eike Kush's legs are a fucking legend. They're twice the length of his upper half.
>>383520219
Oh like you still wouldn't
>>383518851
I'd like that but I don't trust modern Konami with it
>>383520834
Well of course not them, just find some decent mod makers who can use an engine smartly and dump the game assets in while fixing up whatever doesn't translate properly.
>>383520328
Early 3D characters in general had weird legs and running animations
Is there any sort of mod for the PSP version that replaces the dub with the PS2 one?
>>383522204
None that I know of. Of course, the PSP version didn't improve the graphics much and made little changes to the script. It's pretty much like the Silent Hill HD collection, but without the horrendous bugs and controversy over the redub.
>>383520445
Punch him with the philosopher stone and cave his chest in? You goddamn right I would.
>>383507364
What's the gameplay like?
>>383522683
Come on Homunculus is a f i n e lad
>>383523020
Pretty much a 3D adventure game. You never fight anyone, and you collect items and talk to people while solving puzzles of sorts (though nothing on the level of the madness seen in typical adventure games).
That is a FUN game
