Where else can they go? Three of their consoles bombed, all their first party studios have abandoned ship, they keep making Froza games but nobody is buying them anymore, it's the only real solution.
>>383479623
>where else can they do
Definitely not the handheld market because Nintendo is unbeatable there
>>383479623
>3 consoles bombed
No they didn't
>>383479623
They still make profit.
They are already in the handheld market:

and it support the Xbox Play anywhere. You thought "Xbox play anywhere" was just for High end PC?
>>383479623
360 was a smash success, famalam.
Especially since people kept buying new ones when their's red-ringed.
>>383479623
I think you go on this board too much if you think the Xbox brand is doing that poorly.
>>383479809
Those are expensive as fuck. Surface book with a meh GPU cost 2700 dollars.
>>383479809
I have a surface but cpu bottlenecks for gaming, not enough cooling, absolutely not suited for anything besides games like undertale
>>383479972
People spend too much time on the Internet. They look at the adoption rates and the lack of games and inferior performance to PS4, and they figure it must be a dead brand, but it's still making the company money so hardly a failure.
>>383479623
They have no games. They cant even support one home console let alone a handheld device.
>>383480161
You can play Gear of war on a Surface book

>>383480161
You can emulate nintendo older game on it :^)
Microsoft pretty much exclusively publishes multiplayer focused games now. Getting into handhelds with that mindset is a terrible idea
>>383481168
Halo & GoW have a solo campaign.
Also https://www.vg247.com/2017/06/19/microsoft-is-trying-their-hand-at-their-own-horizon-zero-dawn-style-game-according-to-job-listing/ (if it doesn't get canned)
A multiplayer mode in game is a must have in 2017. That's what makes people play the game even after finishing the campaign.
They have Xbox on windows phone :^)
>>383479623
seems op forget about this
>>383482224
Damn shame it failed.
>>383482405
Story time? I vaugely know zune, that its a mp3 player but not much else
>>383482527
It was an ipod killer released 8 months before the iphone
it was doa

They had a few iterations of it. That one in the pic. One with a touch pad for buttons, and a full touch screen one. I had the last 2, which was fine since all I did was listen to music and it was super easy to put music on (just drag and drop files rather than going through iTunes). But now that phones are as advanced as they are, theres no point to having them anymore. It also did less than the iPod touch. I dont know any juicy details of how or why it died, thats just from my own experiences
>>383482879
meant to reply to >>383482527 as well
>>383479623
>try to compete with Nintendo
Heh
>>383479623
I heard that the xbox division of Microsoft has only ever made a profit for two quarters but because MS has that Windows money they don't care and just want to fuck with Sony by forcing new generations and being a headache.
>>383482224
so did everybody else
>>383482527
It had a music profile similar to the Xbox Gamer Profile during the Xbox 360 Launch, came with FM radio by default. Your Microsoft Points on Xbox could be used on the Zune Marketplace as well.
There were games you could play with other people with Zunes nearby, and share music with them similar to Nintendo's Streetpass. If you were a buyfag, you could get a Zune Pass for $15 dollars and download whatever music you wanted, and get to keep 10 of them each month. Firmware was always updated on all models unlike Apple iPods, which drop support when the newest one comes out.
It could also do a wireless sync with your music library on your computer and you could get custom themes. There was a web browser too but it was only available on the final edition HD. The user also had the ability to make their own games with XNA Game Studio if you knew what you were doing.
