They phoned in Reach for contractual reasons they really wanted to do destiny.

The sandbox was borked, armor abilities fucked map design (jetpack ruined verticality and sprint ruined map size), they fucked up the visual design to go for the GRITTY cawwadooty audience, they fucked up the main marksmen weapon with bloom, they fucked up the satisfying button smash for melee because you have to tap it like a little bitch lest you get locked into a 4 second "come and kill me" animation, they fucked up the lore in the campaign.

Reach was trash, 4 was worse but 4 only existed because 343 saw people didn't complain so much about Reach.

We need to go back to the design philosophy of the trilogy.
