Lets get one of these goingalso discuss Digimon World
No Next Order?
>>383465691
I was actually just looking for a Digimon game to play today. I've already played the dusk and dawn ones on DS and DW4- I really liked DW4 but it's kinda boring without friends. I really enjoyed dusk and dawn, but to my understanding digimon games all tend to have a different digivolution and combat system; are there other games that do it like dusk and dawn? And are there any other games that let you adventure as a digimon?
>>383467280
>loves the PSX trilogy
>that VII reaction
It's basically the same gameplay structure but from a first-person perspective. What's wrong with it?
>>383467681
>are there other games that do it like dusk and dawn?
Cyber Sleuth is your closest option.
>And are there any other games that let you adventure as a digimon?
No
So disappointing.
Never played any Digimon game. What is the best game to play right now. Seem there's a Vita and PS4 game. How are they?
>>383468109
Cyber Sleuth and Next Order are honestly probably the best Digimon games period so far.
CS is like a standard RPG, NO blends RPG conventions with a virtual pet.
>>383468239
Which you think is the best one to play right now? Anything I should know before getting into it? Heard how digilution or whatever it's called is weird and almost nonsensical.
3 is my favorite.
>>383468331
I can't say one is better than the other, because they're completely different experiences.
Cyber Sleuth is more conventional, so it might be easier to get into, and the digivolution system is a lot more free-form. Just a linear, dungeon-crawling RPG with monster collection.
Next Order follows from the original DMW, which in turn takes inspiration from the functions of the V-pets, making it inherently more punishing as your Digimon have lifespans putting you on a constant time crunch to digivolve and make progress before dying and repeating.
>>383468008
Because VII is just a weaker game in general. The fact that there are parts where taking hits is mandatory already hurts it, but then you add in the forced walking/swimming, shit bosses, shit puzzles, no extra modes, and trying to channel RE3 in the weakest way possible, it just collapses in on itself. The game is a mess and based on the demo, it didn't even want RE fans in the first place. It wanted nu-horror fans.
I did not play any of the spin offs. sadly
>>383468086

The first day they were posted 9gag didn't exist.
>>383465691
Digimon World 4 should be a disgusted face. Even with a friend, that game was a dreadful mess.
>when the first level keeps kicking your ass because the Digimon won't stop blocking attacks so you just grind over and over on them until you start seeing slight improvements
>can't digivolve, got to unlock your Mega form by doing a sidequest, and even then once you unlock it, it starts at level 1, grind more asshole

It's also like half a year ahead in story updates because SENA, for an undisclosed reason, stopped trying to catch up.
>>383472994
This was much better than I thought it was going to be. So much more enjoyable than the weird Digimon TCG they had.
>>383467280
>Watching video game movies
Holy shit, son. What's with your infatuation with this series?
>>383473961
I couldn't take the story in BW seriously because the evil team's motivation was somehow worse than Team Aqua and Magma's while being just as uncreative with the leader being crazy and wanting to use [Box legendary] to take over the region, the forced best friends were annoying as fuck and kept showing up just to waste your time with boring tutorials and exposition.
The best part about BW was the postgame because for the first time I could go where I wanted to go and do things on my own pacing while being rewarded for exploration without needing to worry about the fucking awful main cast consisting of a glasses wearing loser, a chipmunk faced retard and a pretentious fujobait furfag with his garbage notLucario shillmon trying to lecture me about slavery on fucking Pokémon
The series is my guilty pleasure
>>383474783
Black Flag and Rogue truly were the pinnacle. At that point, they should've just said fuck it and made pirate games instead.

The only two out of that picture I haven't replayed are Rogue and Syndicate. Rogue is already installed for a replay, but I don't plan on playing Syndicate ever again. It was as unfun an experience as a game can be.
>>383475003
>Black Flag's main strenghts were the naval combat, the singleplayer story and seamless transitions between sailing and walking
>Skull and Bones is missing two out of three
>>383472391
Where is Shin Megami Tensei IV, the Dark Souls of Persona series?
>>383474295
>>383474363
>WC1
I liked WC2 and got WC1 after that, but it was pretty shit in comparison desu.
So far the only Digimon game I dislike is 2. 1 was a shit tonne of fun. 3 was grindy as hell with the digivolutions but was so satisfying when you got Imperialdramon Paladin mode. 4 was different, but still a lot of fun. Especially with friends. Cyber Sleuth just felt...right. Though it was unbalanced at times. Next Order is brilliant, and follows real closely to 1 which is an obvious plus.
As a side note, the soundtracks to these games are amazing.
>>383476260
Why X4 is so fucking good? I know it is, but why I always think of that one if whenever I think of megaman.
>>383476325
there are many anons in this board but you, specifically, are my nigga. even the lesser tracks in 3 were so nice, and the beach ambience was top notch on the various capes
https://youtu.be/9l-4PRB7jBY
>>383476393
Come on, dream team is great. The tutorials greatly overstay their welcome, but it's such an enjoyable experience still
>>383476591
I still haven't touched Dream Team 'cause it's ugly as fuck
Like 70% of the game's charm and quality comes from the amazing sprite art and animation.
I just can't enjoy a game that looks so unpleasant, even if the gameplay is good.
>>383476501
theresnoreasonformetogoonwhat... WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOOOR
>>383476591
I liked Dream Team at first, but I enjoyed it less and less by the hour, and it didn't help that the game really felt like it was dragging on longer than it needed to, the final giant fight and the fight with Antasma are where my enjoyment really went off the deep end and once I finished it I was just happy that I'd never have to go through the game again.
I want to replay digimon world 3, anybody has that game patch to make everything 1.5x exp and 1.5 bits or something? (could have been 3.0) so I don't fucking grind to hell and back
>>383476520
Still some of my all time favourite soundtracks. You know it's done brilliantly when even the background ambience is good. From the capes of 3 like you said, to Native Forest on 1. Don't think there's a track on 1 that I dislike. It's just all good. The remakes on Next Order smashed me in the face like a nostalgia train.
Also:
- Menu, Save, Lobby music on 4
- Digital World on Cyber Sleuth
>>383476681
Well that's a shame. I liked the aesthetics from the prerendered models turned sprites, but a lot of people rightfully think otherwise
>>383476786
It does drag, true. Still, the game really grabbed me by the nuts so I didn't mind the stretched out parts of it like the ultibed assembly. Maybe I just really enjoyed the combat, I dunno. Looking forward to the SS remake with bowser's minions

digimon world 1 was absolute shit.
I played that thing the most out of all of them. The sequels were much better.
>>383472994

Nigga what the fuck
The Internet was very much a niche until about 2007
The Internet population in 2003 is a fraction of what it is today.
Fuckin' Facebook had nearly 2 billion active users in the first quarter of this year.
That easily surpasses the amount of people actively online in 2003.

No ace attorney reactions?
>>383478080
How could you have possibly existed on the Internet in the early 2000s and felt as though it was a popular and mainstream activity?
Not only were computers in general expensive as fuck, but Internet connections were total trash and there was still a heavy reliance on old media. People still had landlines. Remember dial-up? Don't keep the line busy, Timmy, I'm expecting a call!
Your parents still read the newspaper, everyone still watched TV.
The Internet was most popular with young people, but it still wasn't exactly commonplace until MySpace got big.
You have to be delusional not to see the colossal change in scope and format the Internet has undergone in the past decade.
It's completely different now, because instead of being a weird hobby for nerds and kids, it's a globally-utilized asset with tons of money involved.
Just shouting "underage!!!" doesn't really mean anything.

>>383478439
Nigga...
Maybe if you were talking about the 90s that would be correct, but the early 2000s had shit like old school MMOs and Newgrounds on top of competitive shooters. Internet was pretty fucking mainstream just not as much as it is now.
>>383475165
I'll never understand why so many people seem to have enjoyed 5 more than 4. Maybe it's just because 4 was this important event in my life where I realized how much I could love a video game. That side story, that portrayal of yellow 13 as not a villain, but as a man fighting for his country. The way the game poured all this pressure on you and even when you won you still had to watch the consequences your "heroism" had on the men and women of
Erusia.Also >liking AC3
>>383479419
It got bigger, sure, but I would never consider it mainstream.
>>383477721
It's completely tedious and way too picky for how vague it is. Without a guide you're 99% certain to get Vademon every time. The fuckers need to shit every five seconds. The battles have random huge difficulty spikes for no reason.
It's comfy as fuck and a cool idea but as a game it's utter shit.
