Nope. I enjoy slow games that let me really sink into the world. Speedrunning something goes completely against that to find the best way to skip over the game's content as fast as possible. It's the opposite of what I enjoy about vidya. Racing through a game just to get to the end so you can say, "I beat GAME in X minutes" seems stupid to me. I can understand the appeal for some people and how a lot of the tricks used to skip content are interesting, but nothing about it appeals to me.

Besides, I mostly play RPGs and shit. Speedrunning an RPG would still take hours and hours.

I'd disagree to an extent. The entire point of speedrunning is to find ways to play less, in fact. Efforts are made to find skips, glitches, and bugs that allow for players to get past playing parts of the game. Instead, the goal and enjoyment comes from getting to the end, utilizing the skips well, and seeing the times you managed.

I can see why others may enjoy that, but I wouldn't call it playing the game really. The player is just trying to get from point A to point B in the fastest time imaginable, which doesn't allow for sinking into the world or enjoying the gameplay itself.

If all you focus on is how fast you get through the game and whether skipping content shaves seconds off your time, I doubt you're really enjoying the game itself. One thing I learned seeing this autistic fucks is that they hate videogames with a great passion, most of them don't even know the name of the game they're playing. They read a guide on how to autistically play the game and try to do the same tricks faster than some other fuck.

Generally the best way to get into speedrunning something is to look up a dirty scrub route that's slow and safe as fuck and doesn't use many advanced tricks. General guideline is to take the WR time and double it, and that should be a good first goal to shoot for. Other than that,

This. Learn some easier route and practice general stuff in the game before moving onto some harder stuff. Or, not. It's not like it matters.
I found an older any% route of Metroid Prime that uses no OoB and it's pretty darn fun. Especially now that the Infinite Speed Glitch is so easy to perform, completely removing the need to backtrack to Phendrana and lets you get Power Bombs early, without any trouble.
My personal best is around 1:12 IGT, which I'd say is okay.

The voice thing is legit a good 90% training as opposed to hormone based if I recall correctly. Some C4 documentary went through all the misconceptions about transition and one of the big things were they outlined that people expect the drugs to do all the work when most of it has to be learned and trained.

Very rarely do you hear people say they've never actually played the game and just went right in speedrunning it, never giving it a legitimate playthrough.
