Forcing you to "get gud" is sending you back to the level or the last place you saved until you can understand what you're doing wrong

Forcing you to restart the entire world or game is just a hindrance, forcing you to take an annoying amount of time to go through something just for a something you would normally need a few minutes to learn

I think losing coins instead of dying is better personally, coins seem to be important in this game after all so losing them will also force you to "git gud". I do worry the amount of coins you lose won't be enough though, but who knows, Mario games get progressively harder the further you get after all. That being said it doesn't matter that much to me though, the biggest punishment I felt was losing your power-ups due to being shitty and I don't think losing coins or getting Game Overs will ever be that punishing to me personally. Also the game will be fun at the end of the day to me, it's not like I die enough to get a Game Over in Mario games anymore unless they're Kaizo rom hacks.
