Chapter 3 is the ultimate casual filter, but after that it's relatively smooth sailing.

I did however give up in Chapter 10. Just throw a bunch of crossbow and machine gun zombies at me senpai.

I played on whatever the highest difficulty available from the start was. The difficulty setting doesn't have much to do with the late sections of TEW, a game that was supposedly going to move away from RE4's action-oriented gameplay, basically mirroring the most actiony parts of RE4. Throw in some decent regenerating health and the crossbow and you've got a survival horror game that's kind of scary but not very hard to survive. There were parts of TEW that I really liked but by-and-large I didn't see much there.

I'm aware that you can use needles and you only regenerate to the point where you can run again. That small bit of regeneration was all I needed to avoid using other methods of healing most of the time.

Because I didn't think a survival-horror game delivered on the survival aspect? That's half the genre dude, and that's without delving into the awful storytelling, the prevalence of instakills, and much scary Ruvik who can be avoided by circling a coffee table.

Seems like you just moved the goalpost. You brought up casual difficulty but I played on a difficulty that was not casual so now you're saying the new difficulty is the new casual. At that, MUH DIFFICULTY isn't what makes a game good. Playing TEW on a higher difficulty won't make it better.

I loved every part of this game except for the shitty, shoehorned crafting system, which was entirely unnecessary. Just hand me a fucking crossbolt or a grenade, don't make me pick up a ton of shit and make them myself.

In this particular context it means they forced it into the game to satisfy some retarded producer, rather than thinking about how it would improve the gameplay at all.

Making unnecessary item crafting systems is a lazy method of making the player explore the level to look for scrap and parts. Alien Isolation did this as well.
