M&L was dead after Superstar Saga
Inside Story had its moments, but after replaying SS I immediately noticed the lack of passion and creativity in the newer games

The gameplay was the best in the series so far.

The problem is they played it way too fucking safe with the crossover. It's not Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario crossover, it's Mario & Luigi with a paper gimmick.
