I don't think there is going to be a full, complete 9th gen. At least, not as far as we think of it now.

I think there's going to be more half-grades, like the PS4 Pro and the XB1X, and then we're going to jump straight into Games-As-Service streaming and software platforms.

I originally anticipated that the 8th generation would be a "bridge" generation and that we'd get back to seventh gen levels of progress by the 9th, but things don't seem to have "recovered," so to speak. Going by the weakest of last gen, the PS3, it was running games at around 540-600p at an unlocked 30fps with framerate all over the place.
The remasters of those games for current gen instead play the games at 1080p (3-4x resolution) and at 60fps (~2x framerate) with usually some small updates to visuals or lighting on top of that.

So going by that, I think a next gen console will be pushing 1440p around 30ish, or 1080p at 60fps for every genre no matter how pretty looking. But knowing how they love to push things they'll probably just force just about everything to 4k with terrible unlocked and jittery framerates instead.

After the PS5, there will not be anymore consoles

PS6 games will be streamed only and you can probably stream PS6 games to the PS5

Xbox will be the same pretty much as the PS6 and PC will stay how it is currently because of graphics car manufactoring

This would dramatically decrease the amount of manufacturing overhead and networking requirements should be met at the major markets of the world to facilitate this.

This means that access to exclusives on per "console" would not cost much if anything and as a result, console wars will die out

You'll be pushed to upgrade it every couple years to keep up with the latest enhancements and while you will pay a bit less than you would for a decent gaming pc, by the time you finish upgrading it and paying for online access you'll have spent double.

Ugh I've got every iteration of of PlayStation right next to me. I don't know if I'll buy PS5. The PS4 is a great home media center for me and I only play a couple games on it as is.
We don't need better graphics or more powerful consoles, we need better games, and unless the PS5 has an incredible selection or some amazing gimmick, I might be skipping this round and maybe just upgrade my PC instead
