Sorry man, you brought this on yourself. Willie was Mickey's original name before the "Mickey mouse" concept even existed. Steamboat Willie refers to "Willie" the mouse. The name "Mickey Mouse" was found more catchy and eye grabbing than willie, and it caught on with the marketing department in the early 30's. Hence why "M M" became more popular.
