yeah this is what i really dislike about dark souls past 1.

in 1 you could get lost and get way out of your supposed route and go on all kinds of crazy adventures. the first time i went to blight town i had no idea where i was and i had to scout for bonfires or items before moving. reaching a bonfire felt special and safe. teleporting wasn't a thing so you could never easily stock up on anti-poison shit if you ran out, it was just you all the way and you had to pray there was a way back to home. and when you found that shortcut back and saw firelink again it's just fucking bliss.

in later ones + bb it feels as if the game is like "oh yeah you did 1 had thing, here's your bonfire" and then let you walk another fairly straight forward path to do 1 hard thing and then bonfire. fuck 'em. the combat was never what i enjoyed about ds1, but it seems to be the thing that got the most focus.

The more tasks you get, the more you'll have to take time off of another task to work on it. Now let's say you have a deadline for a project but you gotta help someone else update their windows or some shit. That means you get less time to get your own work done and have to stay extra to finish it up.. which most people hate to do.

You'll know the feeling when you gotta come in on weekends just to compensate for someone else's incompetence.

Working in an office is not like regular hourly work. At least the way it works in my office and for most places I worked at, you submit a timesheet detailing what job/task you were working on and how many hours you worked on them. It's not just like you could put down "IT work" in your timesheet. The other option is to slightly lie about the number of hours you were on a task, maybe claiming you worked 8 hours on a task when it was really 6 hours, and 2 hours fixing some broad's computer, but that starts to be unethical.

Yeah, I have next to no confidence and my immediate reaction when out and being social is to close myself off and stay quiet but certain times force you to make an effort so as not to appear boring or without a sense of humour, but then when it falls flat it's just very disconcerting and you wish to retreat into your shell again. I'm still cringing over a few things from friday night...but I'm trying.
