They'll never remove it from Nier, I don't think they care to even patch the gamebreaking bugs
>>
>>383364013
It's a hot button issue on PC, a lot of people really hate it because games that have it usually have weird performance issues even though Denuvo says their software doesn't affect anything. It's bullshit and you can prove it by playing the pirated versions of Denuvo games that inexplicably run way better. Also there's very little point in keeping it if the game has already been pirated, no sense in locking your front door when your garage is wide open. Might as well go for the good will by removing the piece of shit everyone hates.
>>

The funny thing is, 20 of those Andromeda pics aren't even porn, they're just the protag playing with Legos while wearing adult diapers.

if i had to guess it would be ea doing a market experiment. despite what they say, they really have no idea that denuvo translates into more sales and there's a possibility that denuvo could actually hurt sales

>>
>>383363921
At least EA is less retarded than others devs who refuse to remove the denuvo rootkit from games that got cracked.
>>
>>383364726
Still don't understand why people get mad over Origin or Uplay, you see it once, it's not like it stops you in the middle of the game and tries to talk about Jesus every 10 minutes.
>>
>>383364974
Regardless of how you feel about Steam it's a fucking fact that it's the best market on the PC right now. There's no comparison. People really like GOG and they're great, but in terms of library size, selection, deals, UI, features, etc., Steam shits on GOG and part of that just comes from being in the game longer.

>>383365070
It's fine. Nothing special, nothing wrong with it. The only problems are the problems inherent with GOG like people don't want to release DRM free versions of their games so there's not as much there. Also personally, I hate having to boot up a bunch of apps and programs to have access to all of my shit. And yeah you can add shortcuts to Steam but it's still not the same. It's just way too convenient to have everything in one location.
>>
>>383364013
Because it got cracked already and there's no point in paying for it anymore, especially with Andromeda's lackluster sales.
>>
>>383364207
>no sense in locking your front door when your garage is wide open
I don't understand this. Please use food analogy next time.
>>
>>383363921
Maybe they needed to remove the anti tamper to accomodate all the DLC the game will surely have in the near future, which will fix EVERYTHING, btw.
>>
>>383365149
Because they make you create an account for a service you don't want, force you to sign in all the time (in Uplay's case they even try to get you to sign in even when you're not fucking using Uplay because you're playing an Ubisoft game somewhere else), if you want to get into matchmaking or some sort of online bullshit with friends you can't use your friend list on the shit you're already using but instead their bullshit, Origin and Uplay just functionally are not as good as Steam is, their servers are shit, things just fail to load all the time, and of course they have a HISTORY of being way more than just an inferior service and have stepped into being downright cancer, like that time Origin installed a fucking virus onto your PC or just actually being spyware in general.

Because Denuvo is a fucking meme and waste of money.
Piracy is a stupid propaganda only most retarded people who don't know how gaming works believe.
Idiots like Square Enix think that using Denuvo transforms "Pirated Copies" into "Sold Copies" which is bullshit. Pirate won't buy a game anyway. He will wait even those few months for a crack and play it with a way better performance than a person who bought the game legally.
Denuvo needs to fucking die and that's it.

This. Ideally I would have no clients running at all. Steam is the lesser evil for me and it's as far as I'm willing to go, ever.
I mean, fuck, it took me 10 years to finally cave in and get Steam (it was a bit less shit then than at the start), there's just no way I'd use uplay or origin which both are bigger pieces of shit than steam ever was.
>>
>>383365070
GOG Galaxy is ok. Kind of a bitch to start up if you have auto updates disabled, but other than that it's fine. Hopefully they will improve it more in the future though.

Origin/u-play are trash that needs to go.
>>

>>
If we lived in an alternate universe where Mass Effect Andromeda was actually good, would people here forgive Bioware over the Mass Effect 3 debacle? Or would they still be hated to the end of time
>>
>>383366773
There wouldn't be a DRM monopoly if the alternatives weren't fucking garbage. The whole point of competition is to actually compete, but no one is offering a service as good as Steam on the PC even though Steam is fucked up, so no one is pushing Steam to be a BETTER market and other markets are just killing themselves by trying to do all the shit garbage that Steam does but also trying to push extra shit garbage to see if they can get away with it. This has been going on in the PC landscape for fucking generations. Remember Games for Windows Live? Remember how Microsoft wanted you to fucking pay for Xbox Live to play PC games? What a fucking wonderful concept, trying to bring that console garbage to the PC market. Luckily no one put up with that shit and it died and Microsoft just killed the servers making all GFWL games on PC even worse than they were before because GFWL was such a cancer to games that even when the servers are permanently down and gone forever the games still try to access them.

Steam does a lot of terrible things, but the Steam monopoly is not Steam's doing. It's not Steam's fault that literally every other company that tries to compete with them shoots themselves in the foot, enforcing the monopoly even harder. I'm not going to put up with an even worse experience and an even shittier game experience just so Steam doesn't have a monopoly anymore. That's fucking retarded. If someone wants to come try to take a bite out of Steam's lunch they need to do a fucking better service than Steam, not a worse one.
>>
>>383367148
This desu.
GOG had actually good chance to be a great competitor but they shot themselves in the foot by wanting to have completely DRM-Free games.
>>
>>383366846
It selling "fuckton" means jack-shit if it wasn't enough to be profitable.
>>
>>383366846
It really didn't anon. EA expected larger than ME3 sales and it didn't. It failed so hard that it went on discount in record time for EA, the development team was disbanded and probably got blacklisted, DLC candled and the series itself shelved which isn't good at all considering ME:A was the first game in a new trilogy and all.

Stop defending a game so bad even EA are trying to forget about it.

It sold 1.03 million copies the first week. I'm not trying to defend it, just stating the facts available to us. It didn't make enough for EA to not go full demon on Bioware but it did make enough to break even.

>EA expected larger than ME3 sales and it didn't
I really doubt that because this shit barely even had marketing. They must have known how shit it was but just wanted to recoup what they lost on it.
>>
>>383366846
where dem sales figures at
because pretty much every other big release in Q1 '17 released them, ME:A didn't
>>
>>383367730
It's a fucking noble endeavor and I salute them for it.

However the majority of the industry doesn't want to play ball. Because of it the choices of games you have on GOG are comparatively extremely limited. True to their name, the majority of their releases are "Good Old Games" rather than new releases. Because of that it ends up feeling like more of a hobbyist side store than a mainstream competitor. It's missing the content to be capable of making any sort of dent in Steam's markethold.
>>
>>383366846
EA downgraded the development studio into a support team. Obviously it didn't do as well as expected
>>
>>383367898
>It sold 1.03 million copies the first week

>>
I wouldn't be surprised if major AAA publishers only remove it because they don't want to pay license renewal fees to the russians to keep using Denuvo forever.
>>

>>
>>383367971
Every goddamn publisher expects the entire world to buy their crap. You really shouldn't pay attention to their expectations unless you're an investor.
>>
>>383368135
Expectations or not it barely sold a copy compared to previous entries and far below expected for an AAA title. 1mil is obscure Japanese pantsu game money. Nier sold more.
>>
>>383367971
To put into perspective, Nier Automata, a sequel to a game that by most accounts is really bad, a game that had no big marketing push at all outside of free online shit, a game that is so niche that Square Enix funded the game fully expecting it to bomb sold over 1.5 million units. Now for Nier Automata, that's incredible. It outsold SE's expectations by an order of magnitude they were not ready for. But for a huge massive IP like Mass Effect that had an incredibly successful TRILOGY of games that were all for the most part highly respected and critically acclaimed that sold millions and millions of units across their lifetime with Mass Effect 3 currently having sold 6 million units during its lifetime, to have a game following all of that only sell 1 million units, that series is fucking dead.

I'm glad ME is dead it didn't deserve the rape that was ME3 and hopefully ME:A shows that if you make a game all about diversity and social issues then it's destined to fail. I want to explore space and shoot things in the face with sexy alien babes not listen to a tranny about their birth name.

The best part is even when they were marketing for OTHER games, Yoko Taro simply being involved made people want to buy Nier more. Like when they were doing developer interviews talking about this new upcoming Square game and everyone was sucking their dick talking about how amazing this new game is going to be, Yoko Taro gets on camera and is talking about how if this game comes out it's going to kill Nier so you shouldn't buy the game and Square Enix should cancel it.
