For anyone who plays this piece of shit game, the storyline is now super obvious since the Doomfist short:
1) Doomfist is your stereotypically philosophical "survival of the fittest" type guy (believes that war is good, makes humanity strong, etc)
2) Sees an opportunity to create an 'ideal' war, pitting Humans against Omnics, who have hitherto been getting along fine.
3) Hacks/Corrupts the Omnics (Bastion robots specifically, possibly others) to attack and wage war against Humanity. Zenyatta/Monk-bots possibly not hacked (or unable to be hacked, or not worth being hacked due to low numbers) which is why they're now peacemakers with Humanity.
4) Question remains of who created/uploaded the virus that fucked up the Omnics/Bastion bots/etc. In the shorts we've seen both Sombra/Reaper hacking and uploading viruses respectively, but to be honest they seem like lackeys. I doubt Doomfist is the 'big' leader - assuming there's only one, it might be led by a 'council' of sorts, in which case he could be 'one' of the leaders. Nonetheless he question remains of who is responsible for the Omnic war.

Bonus: Bastion bots can only go 'beep beep boop boop' and there's hardly any left, so there's little-to-no way for them to tell Humanity that they were hacked.
The one Bastion bot that's left, and that we play, has some PTSD shit, so probably hasn't gotten around to telling Zenyatta (who can apparently talk to Omnics, such as Orisa) that he and his buddies were hacked to hell and back.

Talon is led by a council. The Omnic crisis happened before Doomfist the Successor had a seat on the council. I'm guessing aliens are responsible for the Omnic Overminds or at least the corruption of them.

For someone wanting to talk about Overwatch story you're not paying that much attention to it.
Ominc crisis happened ages before Reaper existed, hell Sombra was orphaned by the omnic crisis she was a little kid back then. Reyes lead Overwatrch during the Omnic crisis and the war caused Sombra to become criminal. Sombra is trying to figure out the "conspiracy" behind everything.
