I think they were just trying to do fun little side shows that their Patrons could check out. There were a few big problems with that plan, though. Naming this series "Funny Factory" made it seem like each side show they put out would be something comedic. Something to make you laugh every single episode. Hence, a "funny factory," where the laughs are pumped out on a regular basis. But the shows they were putting out just weren't funny.

Rocco's show was mildly interesting when he was talking to special guests, but it was otherwise pretty hard to watch. Even from an editing standpoint, which is surprising given how seriously Rocco takes his editing. Shawnime was the best, but if you didn't have a Netflix account, you missed out on that. Even then, it was only funny because Shawn was so out of his element, which is a joke that quickly got old. I won't even discuss Derrick's show since it's not worth the effort. There's just nothing to talk about. It was a complete embarrassment. I'm pretty sure there was a fourth show, but I've forgotten what it was.

Ultimately, I don't think Mega64 wanted it to be "successful." They weren't gaining anything more from producing Funny Factory, it was just more content they were putting out for the people willing to pay for more content via Patreon. They probably thought they could put out anything they wanted and the fans would appreciate it just by the virtue of it being more content. They were wrong.

Why would you contribute to their degeneracy? They stopped making fun video game skits ages ago and only upload their crappy podcasts on their channel with Rocco spouting "you 'know what I mean?" every five seconds.

These guys never had their heart in video games, and you can easily tell this if you check their podcasts. All they end up chatting about are the latest movies or television series. They never had any talent and are no different than Kojima, thinking they can "create" epic tales on the screen. They even tried to make their own movie which failed. Pathetic.

Well, this has been correct every other time before they introduced Funny Factory and the Patreon. There have been some real shitsucker vids over the years that fans defend, or worse accept as four-layers of ironic "funny" (think Skygoat or Timbo) because it's bad on purpose. Or how the boys advertise the compilation DVDs as having grandiose new storylines which just end up as 10 minutes of meandering garbage.

I've actually been thinking about ending my Patreon subscription to them. It's only $5 a month, but that shit adds up.

The thing is, I've met them in person twice at GameDays and I just love that event so much with all of my heart. You'll probably say, "Dude they don't give a shit about you, they have thousands of fans, they can't give an equal shit about everybody." And you're right. I won't argue against that. I used to be the kind of fan that wanted to get noticed, but I've moved past that.

I've made so many friends at GameDays, I can't just stop. I would be turning my back on a lot of people. Even if Mega64 isn't all that great anymore, or they were never good to begin with, whatever. They've helped me make so many good memories that I wouldn't trade for the world. I guess that's why I'm a Patron of theirs. They've done so much for me, I just felt the need to give something back to them.

I guess because Timbo is based on that video of Kimbo Slice from way back when? And it's just funny watching Rocco bleeding from his eye and screaming in pain even if he's just acting. I wish they made more videos, seems like they make even less since starting their patreon and getting thousands of dollars more income a month.

Podcast is still good though.

That's a fatal error on your part. They aren't your friends. You may feel this way since you "experienced" moments with them via podcasts or videos of theirs, but they don't know who YOU are at all. So you may have a personal connection with them, but it is completely one-sided. It is entertainment that is no different than spending money on a camgirl and falling for her. She could care less about you and is only there for your money and your entertainment.

You need to define that fine-line and make sure you don't fall for what a lot of people don't realize is a reality. I do like Mega64 myself as well, but they are not my friends.

Well, I wasn't talking about being friends with Mega64 specifically. I realize my words probably came off that way, that's my mistake. I was trying to put more focus on the fact that I've made a lot of good friends at GameDays. People I still talk to and can't wait to see again either this November or some other day in the future. It's because of those people, those connections, and those memories that I still care. You'll probably argue against this post, too. Sorry for being human, I guess.

Skygoat was a deal with Microsoft to make specific content using their Holo lens. Mega64 was limited by creativity because it was in some ways a promotional video and was limited by what content the Holo lens had.

I don't mind their humour and jokes, even when it seems really out there or on the level that you wouldn't want to share it with someone that you know personally, but when they start doing shit like this >>383359876 and how it got out that Rocco has basically fucked a bunch of his female fans (some underage even) only to ditch them or cheat on them at the same time with his current gf is really scummy. The only person I legit still like is Garret and I know a ton of other people on 4chan who love him as well, cause he's stayed true to himself and he is the realest out of the bunch. He works a full time job, plays VIDEO GAMES on stream for fans (the other "official" members of Mega64 barely play any video games, and not nearly the amount as Garret does, and he works more than any of them at an actual workplace), and even past all that he shows a semblance of actually having his own personal life.

But they're in a transitional period where they're slowly growing up, so is their audience, social experiment/prank videos are becoming the norm so public reaction skits are more difficult to get reactions out of without staging, videogames are being invaded by normalfags/casuals, and th

they're dealing with themselves/their audience aging, complete saturation of public sketch/prank videos, videogames themselves becoming political grenades, shawn is a dad, derrick is unfulfilled and constantly talks about doing other projects, rocco is scrambling to appease everyone, and kevin is jumping in without bringing anything to the table other than "totally normal guy". I fear the slowest and painful fade into irrelevance for them, but I hope they can stick together, keep making funny videos, and keep the fans happy.

I used to watch their podcasts but I can't help but feel that Derrick is getting fed up with Rocco taking dominance in every conversation. In addition I hate how Rocco interrupts people who are talking and begins telling a 10 minute story only for there to be dead silence after it followed by Rocco saying something like, " that's it, I just thought that was [funny/weird/strange/dumb]" Which ques Derrick to try and get back on schedule only for Rocco to make a comment about a topic that has passed 15 minutes ago.

Anyone else notice shit like this? Seems like there's a breaking point approaching soon under the surface.
