Yeah RE2 is way less terrifying but I think it is still great on the scares. It just scares you a different way. SH1 is oppressive as hell with its spooky atmosphere and can make you feel dread for long spurts of play. Resident Evil 2 is more about good arcadey action fun with some good survival horror elements thrown in. Better survival horror than RE4 on. Not hating here just saying the truth. Item management is important in these games.

Enjoy your game nigger. You make me want to play it for the two dozenth time here.

I've already played through REmake and SH1 is definitely way easier just a lot more spooky. The dread in REmake came from dealing with enemies and the thought of losing progress.

Yeah you are right. REmake is fantastic though. RE2 is easier than both of those games imo. I've beaten RE2 in one sitting without saving in like around 3 hours. Hope that remake turns out good.
