It's over. I thought it was over before, but now it's REALLY over

It's not.

I bet he has 5 more episodes in him before calling quits to AVGN.
>Whoring yourself counts as bad ending
Why do games do this
>>383349872
Mario Odyssey thread ?
What's the purpose of rolling outside of combat and prevent fall damage in Zelda, anyway? I mean, why they allow you to roll all the time?
>>383352810
>turning yourself into a taxi is faster than running
>protag betrays longtime friend out of jealousy
>game makes you slide or fall down an incline that you could easily walk up in real life
>>383350147
NC is about 4/5 skit, 1/5 review. AVGN still isn't that bad.
Name ONE (1) thing faster than running with your eyes closed. I'll wait.
>>383353545
>game lets you automatically climb up ledges whenever it would make realistic sense to do so
>sequel makes waist-high walls are impenetrable barriers which require the slaying of several gods to bypass
>rolling appears faster than normal movement because it has a quick burst of acceleration, but actually covers less distance in the same amount of time and has a slowdown recovery afterwards making it milliseconds slower
>>383353628
>no one has the balls to go for it
>>383354146
sounds like the ultimate tool to BTFO speedrunners. do any games actually do this?
>>383353698
I don't know, despite being scripted, a lot of episodes feel like they were made up on the fly or had little review.
See also: Crazy Castle, ROB the Robot or Lester the Unlikely.

Nothing infuriates me more.
>>383349872
Running everywhere is faster than rollingaround at the speed of sound
>>383354301
not really, any serious speedrunner would clock both to find it which was the most time efficient.

Oh fuck off. He was saying that's how it works IN HIS MIND.
He's not making any kind of declarative statement about how everyone should play games.

I beg to differ, continuously leaping into a roll you can go pretty fast, it's like taking giant steps using downward velocity to gain speed, but it's hard to do continuously, you can only do it on soft ground like grass, and you get dizzy as fuck after only like 6 rolls.
Wouldn't recommend.

Looks similar to the bellyslide mechanic in Sunshine, that was always fun.
>>383361406
You need some serious upper and lower body strength to make this at all efficient.
I consider myself to be in great shape, having practiced Taekwondo for 15 years and MMA/BJJ for 5 or so. Even with that I can't honestly say I can keep quickly leap-rolling for more than those 5 or 6 times in a row before it gets very taxing. Now occasional sprint-steps while jogging, that's efficient.
>>383362787
>Bootsy is more liked than Mike
>Bootsy says some anti-Trump thing on Twitter at some point
>Mike uses that as an excuse to kick him out
>>383363103
It has nothing to do wit efficiency, I'm no athlete, but I naturally have long, strong legs, I used to do that shit when I was like 13, I was just saying that it is possible to get pretty good speed doing that if it were possible to do it continuously, as a video game character can.
>>383363071
was going to post this in the thread.
>jump and dash forward get a huge spurt of speed
>jump mid slide and get a huge spurt of speed
feels amazing, so amazing they kept it.
>>383363367
Ohh, I misunderstood you then. You're right, it is quite fast.
I actually tried it on my backyard just now, and I can only do three really quick rolls before having to slow down to catch my balance. If I was a videogame character and could do those rolls forever, it would be around the same speed as a casual jog for me. So faster than walking everywhere at the very least!
>>383349872
>rolling and/or jumping doesn't make you faster, you just keep going the same speed
>but you still roll or jump because you FEEL it makes you go faster even though you damn well know it doesn't
>>383362941
Oh dive, I've waited four whole 3D Marios for you to come back.
>>383363691
Yeah, I meant like diving into a roll, think evade in Halo Reach.
>>383358947
>>383359034
Stop being peasant.
>>383364383
I was talking about diving rolls, didn't make it obvious though so my bad.
Normal rolling is not at all quick, you need to do dives and get up on your feet on the same motion if you want to move fluidly. And that takes so much effort.
Why can't life be videogames
>running is the same speed as walking, but it changes your FOV to make it look like you're going faster
