Is it me or is SoTN faster on this Dracula X Chronicles game?

How would you design a new castlevania game?

You probably had a PAL version on PS1.
PAL games, due to being 50 Hz, ran roughly 18% slower than NTSC games.

I would start with kino and work my way from there.

Start simple. A nice classic style game with levels that are just "go from point A to point B". Maybe go with a retro art-style, since that seems to be the thing now.

I was thinking using BamHam combat as a foundation. You know, start a combo out with the whip, counter enemies, push a combination of buttons to use the items to kill enemies in flashy ways, etc.
