You know how in the first fever game some characters, like Amitie, had 5 chaining lines while others, like Ocean Prince, had 6?
For some bizarre reason they recorded 6 lines for him again even though every character in this game uses the standard 5 pattern voice. As a result his 5th voice clip, which is the character's repeater, is "Yono chikara" while his 6th voice clip, where the counter line is supposed to be, is "Misete yarou"

I refuse to believe they did this on purpose. It sounds all wrong.

That's got to be a mistake, no doubt about it. The whole point of OP having an extra clip is that "Yo-no chikara" followed by "Misete yarou" roughly translates to "My power, I'll show it!". Swapping them like that just fucks it up and leaves him repeating half of a sentence.
Normall his counter line is "Kurushuu Nai" which is more like "I don't mind." in a kind of dismissive sort of way, I think.

Not really.
Even if they did, they'd probably fuck it up somehow, like they did with the spell lines on this one.
It's a shame, because I think some of the actors were actually really good picks, going by the story mode. Ringo and Maguro were definitely about as perfect as you could get. The main problem with the dub lies in the voice direction for a few characters (Feli, Risukuma, Raffine, etc) and the REALLY shit versions of the voice lines. Take Risukuma's, for example.
JP Risukuma:

Now, I will admit I'm no professional. But when the game is in Japanese and needs to be changed to english, you'd think you'd only want the ACTUALLY JAPANESE lines to be modified, right? Personally, I'm simply swap "Aishite ru" with "I love you.", both in terms of how they're said and when he says them. Instead, the spells in English are all really fucking boring.

And all of them are delivered with about exactly the same fucking level of enthusiasm, which is a horrible way of doing it when the original escalates really nicely until Risukuma is nearly moaning by AISHITE RU. The original Fever dub, while really dubious in some places (Holy shit, what was up with Ocean Prince's fucking accent jesus christ) got the lines and writing down really well for the spells. It's a shame, too, because some characters have both good story voice acting and good ingame voice acting (Maguro is probably my favorite, since his lines are pretty good translations of Maguro's weird trick names and the voice direction they took with him works pretty well.)
