About to play this game, what am I in for?

2005 was better, you could pile 2 tables and one ladder and climb it

im very nostalgic for it but youll have more fun with more arcade styled wrestling games such as wwe all stars, smackdown here comes the pain, or wwf no mercy

a mistake since 2005-2007 are the GOAT wrestling games and 2008 is when it started getting bad.

2008 is went they went on the formula which was kept until '13 I believe. I have SvR 2007-13 so I think their good so have fun. Hate the newer ones though so may never buy one again.

The literal worst game in the series. Non sensical season mode, garbage controls, shit roster. Only redeemable quality is the GM mode but even that was better in 07.

had it on ps2 and it was dope . they introduced a system where you had more control over slams and there was no invisible barrier stopping u from slamming people to the outside. It is also the 1st wrestling game to introduce full 360 degree running

Depends on what you want. When it comes to WWE games the best ones are generally considered:
>No Mercy
>The first few Smackdown games
>All-Stars (for different reasons, it's a very arcade-y take)
And of the modern ones I'd consider 2k14 the best since 15-17 pulled features in order to go into next-gen and 12-13 are buggier versions of 14. 2k18 appears to be shaping up well but the gameplay could still be bland.

Outside of that the Fire Pro Wrestling series is very highly praised. It's sprite-based with 3D movement, but it has good gameplay and great customization. The newest one after a long drought is hitting Early Access tomorrow I think.
